Ag Market Commentary
Monday Gains for Lean Hogs -
Front month hog prices were mostly higher on Monday, though April was a dime weaker. The back months were 25 to 80 cents higher for the close. Cattle Close Up by Triple Digits to Start the Week -The cattle futures market finished Monday with $1.32 to $1.80 gains across the nearby contracts. Feeders were $1.92 to $3.12 higher. USDA reported Soybeans Working Lower in AM -Soybeans are currently fractionally to 3 cents lower in early Tuesday futures action. Soybean futures were 8 ¼ to 10 ½ cents weaker to start the Wheat Extending Gains into Tuesday -The three US wheat markets are starting off Tuesday with another 1 to 8 cent gains so far. The front month wheat market contracts rallied out of the Cotton Fading into Tuesday -Cotton prices are down by triple digits in old crop early on Tuesday. The May cotton futures shed 163 points off their early 226 point gain, though Corn Futures Firming on Tuesday -Corn is trading a penny to 1 ½ cents higher so far on Tuesday morning.
